Learning Center Volunteer Opportunities
If you’ve ever been on job search, you know what a daunting process it can be. If you’ve ever successfully applied to a job, you are perfectly qualified for this volunteer opportunity. When starting out on job search, new clients benefit from personal instruction on how to navigate online job listings, applications, and job inquiry etiquette. One-on-one assistance occurs during our classroom hours whenever you are free to help.
For those who are not used to computers, they can be intimidating and frustrating. We help ease this learning process with an introductory computer class every Monday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the Learning Center. Students learn how to utilize the mouse, access programs and the internet, and basic typing skills. This instructional workshop requires a patient volunteer with the desire to lessen the technology gap for those who are most in need of digital literacy as they go about their job search.
