An important step in rebuilding one’s life is rebuilding yourself and your body, which you can’t do without nutritious and healthy meals. Thanks to the incredible dedication and support from community volunteers, Our House is able to provide men, women and children experiencing homelessness with nutritious and wholesome meals every single day.
These acts of love build on one another. Each contributes to the 100,000 meals we provide at Our House every year—a staggering representation of the commitment of our partners to giving our residents the support they need during this time. Not one of these meals would be possible without community members sharing their experiences and engaging friends and loved ones to join us in investing in the lives of homeless individuals and families.

Ways to Serve
Serve a meal in our shelter
Meal service is one of the most accessible opportunities to directly impact residents in our shelter and show love and care to our community. Volunteers provide, prepare and serve wholesome and nutritious meals, giving our residents the security of knowing where their next meal is coming from, that it will be filling and served with a smile.
Contact Jessica Talley, Food and Wellness VISTA, at email@example.com or at 501-374-7383 ext 153 to join a roster of dedicated monthly or one time meal serving groups. Currently, we have lunch and breakfast monthly dates available. Please check our calendar at Meals Calendar to find a date that works best for you!
Use our Meal Serving Guide to find out more about what serving a meal in the Shelter entails.
Provide a meal for one of our many programs
We try to make our programs accessible to as many people who need them as possible by removing barriers to participation. For many of our families, this means making sure they are not having to sacrifice dinner in order to benefit from any of the amazing programs Our House offers to empower men, women and children experiencing homelessness. From parenting classes, alumni and transitioning client support groups, expungement clinics or family fun nights, there is always a program in need of food items or meal servers on our campus.
If you are interested in serving a meal for one of our programs, please visit our Program Meals Calendar for current opportunities to provide a meal!
Donate items or sponsor a meal.
Our House can provide a meal to its 80 residents for $150 donation.
Groups unable to come prepare and serve on our campus can still provide a meal by sponsoring one of our many open breakfasts and lunches. This sponsorship enables Our House to purchase needed items and make use of abundant food donations to fill gaps in our meals programs, ensuring each meal is wholesome and filling for the men, women and children living in our shelter.
Resources for Current Servers
We are starting new initiatives to ensure residents in our Shelter are getting wholesome nutritious meals while maintaining varied diets! In hopes of increasing the diversity of meals served in our Shelter, we ask that groups input their menu on the form below at least a week prior to their serving date so menus can be added to the calendar and viewed by other groups serving in the same week.
