AmeriCorps members of all ages and backgrounds have served at Our House, providing support to adults, youth, and children.

The Child Development AmeriCorps Member will serve at Our House’s child development center, called Bright Beginnings, which serves up to 125 children ages 6 weeks-5 years old. The Child Development AmeriCorps Member will serve with the teacher to help plan and implement activities for the children, ensure the safety of all children in the program, and create an enriching, fun, and safe environment for the children helping them to meet their developmental goals and milestones.
The Employment Coach AmeriCorps Member will serve in Our House’s Career Center, which works with over 3,000 adults each year through employment and training services, adult education, and resource navigation. The Employment Coach AmeriCorps Member will serve to expand employment and wrap-around services for clients.
Public Health AmeriCorps/Social Work Internship
The Public Health AmeriCorps Member will serve within the programs and partnerships Our House leverages to address the mental and physical health needs of over 400 adults and children. In addition, the Public Health AmeriCorps member will gain compensated onsite field experience, supervision, and marketable training for public health-related careers while completing the school-required social work internship.
The Youth Programs AmeriCorps Members will serve at Our House’s out-of-school program, called Our Club which serves up to 200 youth in grades Kindergarten-12th grade. The Youth Program AmeriCorps Member will assist in planning and implementing enrichment activities for the youth, ensure the safety of all children in the program, help the youth with their homework and tutoring, and create an enriching, fun, and safe environment for the youth.

AMERICORPS STATE
americorps state & national
AmeriCorps members serve and collaborate directly with community members at organizations that value service as a solution to pressing local and national issues. At Our House, AmeriCorps serve in direct service roles working with children and youth in the Children’s Center or adult clients in the Career Center. AmeriCorps members bring a variety of skills and backgrounds to our campus, create engaging
events and curriculum for our programs, and empower all of our clients towards success.
AmeriCorps State members serve in their positions either full-time for 6-months for part-time for one year for a total of 900 service hours.
- Be 17 years or older (no upper age limit)
- Pass a national service criminal history check
- Hold one of the following citizenship statuses: US citizen, US National, Lawful Permanent Resident Aliens
AmeriCorps State members receive a modest living allowance, which totals to approximately $11,440 over the course of your term, and emergency health benefits. At the end of their service, members may earn the Segal Education Award of $3,697. Other benefits include:
