As an out-of-school time program for homeless and near-homeless youth in Kindergarten – 12th grade, we provide a safe, consistent, and comfortable place to learn and grow for 90 youth each day. Our Club’s mission is to provide youth with the highest quality programming and to support the whole family in achieving their goals. Our Club youth participate in daily homework help to improve their academic performance and report card grades. Our Club youth participate in engaging, educational, and fun activities that increase their knowledge and skills in our five key programming areas: STEM, Arts, Cultural Enrichment, Health & Physical Fitness, and Life Skills. Our staff integrates Youth Voice into programming and our youth have opportunities to assist in the design and implementation of programs and activities in which they participate.
AFTER SCHOOL CARE
Our team of Youth Program Specialists work daily with Our Club students to provide individualized mentorship and tutoring. Youth are assigned to different “teams” based on grade-level. Our staff stays up-to-date on all students’ report card grades and school performance to individually assess their needs!
SUMMER PROGRAM
Our Summer Program strives to be an educational, enriching, and uplifting experience that students will cherish for the rest of their lives and will prevent summer learning loss. Throughout the week, youth participate in enrichment activities and attend field trips all over Central Arkansas such as the Little Rock Zoo, Museum of Discovery, and Wild River Country. Youth who do not participate in our after-school program may enroll in the Summer Program if space is available.
The Our Club staff has been trained in Conscious Discipline – a comprehensive, evidence-based, self-regulation program that integrates social-emotional learning and discipline. Conscious Discipline is a way of organizing our classrooms around the concept of a School Family, where each child learns the skills needed to successfully manage life tasks such as learning, communicating effectively, being sensitive to other people’s needs, and getting along with others.
