Rachel and her two daughters moved into the Shelter in March of 2018 after she left an unsafe relationship. With a great job as a Special Education Para-Professional, Rachel was easily able to continue working full-time as her children were enrolled in Little Learners and Our Club soon after moving in. At Our House, Rachel has utilized mental health services and parenting classes, she and her family have moved into the Family House, and she has found support from case managers to better save money and grow as a parent. In the past year, her youngest daughter was a diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and has since been able to get specialized care at Easterseals. With support from the Our House community and her determination to create a better life for her children, her family is happier and healthier than ever and Rachel is well on her way to achieving her goal of owning her own home.
