Sanjuana

After leaving prison and starting fresh with Goodwill’s Transitional Employment Opportunity (TEO) program, Sanjuana heard about Our House from the TEO team. Interested in improving her computer skills, Sanjuana decided to visit the Our House Career Center. Once Sanjauna learned about all the support services at her disposal at Our House, she made a commitment to do everything she needed to get her life back on track to regain custody of her children and applied for CAFSI, Our House’s homeless prevention program. Once in the program, in addition to classes on typing, parenting, health education, and more, Sanjuana was able to regain custody of her children with the support and advocacy of her CAFSI case manager. She also has found a job at a beauty supply store!

Moving forward, Sanjuana has big plans of becoming an advocate for others. She hopes to heal her community by reaching out to youth before they come in contact with the prison or foster care systems. She’s equipped for that endeavor because Sanjuana already offers a lot of support to other CAFSI families, especially by connecting them to helpful resources!
