Greetings to our community,
Over my past 14 years at Our House, I have been fortunate to witness so many incredible stories of transformation—children finding the safety to thrive, learn, and experience joy; adults building the skills and confidence to find fulfilling jobs; and families moving from crisis to stability and finding their rightful place as important members of our community. These compelling stories of success have been a driving force propelling Our House forward since our beginnings in 1987. They are a testament to the amazing things people can do if they have the right support from their community.
36 years ago Our House began as an emergency shelter with a clear vision to provide a path for people to make the difficult journey from homelessness to thriving self-sufficiency. That vision endures to this day, but over the past three decades, we have evolved to provide comprehensive programs that tackle homelessness from every angle, ensuring that those who come to us have access to the tools and resources they need to permanently break the cycle of poverty and put homelessness behind them.
Today, we are unveiling a new visual marker that signifies our dedication to empowering our clients and changing lives. While our mission remains unwavering, we are ready to turn a new page. This is not merely a rebrand, but an outward representation of our commitment and our renewed promise to be a home to new beginnings for families and individuals in Central Arkansas who are ready to build a better life for themselves.
But as with all great endeavors, we cannot do this alone. Your role in our journey is paramount. Each of you, whether as a volunteer, donor, or well-wisher, has been instrumental in weaving the fabric of Our House. You are a part of every success story, every milestone we achieve, and every life we touch. I humbly ask for your continued support and partnership. Share our news, and let the world know about the work we are doing and the lives we are changing. Consider diving deeper, learning more about our programs, and exploring ways you can contribute. Whether it’s your time, resources, or skills, your involvement can make a world of difference. Let’s continue to be a community that supports our neighbors who are working hard to overcome great obstacles. Let’s continue to set our sights high, working on the hard problems, and building a pathway to success for every person in our community. Together, let’s write the next chapter of Our House.
With gratitude,
Ben Goodwin
