Bradley

After years of fighting a lonely battle with alcoholism and undiagnosed mental health issues, Bradley found a sense of belonging he never had before at Our House. When Bradley became a resident of our Housing programs, he was required to honor our no drug or alcohol policy and has been clean since. Bradley’s addiction made it challenging to care for and be a positive influence on his son, so he made the difficult decision to step away. Bradley’s son now lives with his grandparents, but after getting clean, Bradley wishes more than anything to rebuild their relationship at a pace that feels right. Bradley has nearly completed the maximum amount of time residents can stay in the Housing programs—two years! During his stay, Bradley has participated in Career Center services, case management services, primary healthcare clinics, medication management services, and mental health support. Bradley entered our program working an entry-level position earning $11.50 an hour, but he has since moved up to a position at a nearby warehouse and has more than doubled his wages, earning $25 an hour! With this well-earned stability and the money he’s saved, Bradley and his roommate in the Family House program are moving out together into their own apartment. Bradley credits the Our House programs and his now steady work history as the parts of his life that actually ground him. Bradley plans to keep on adding to his $8,000+ in savings and remain involved in Our House programming after moving out. Bradley’s new focus is now finding quality time with his son is his new place!
