In his thirteen months at Our House, Courtney has shown that with hard work and wise-decision making, reaching all of your goals is possible. After losing his job and going through a divorce, Courtney floated between hotels and couches before making the tough choice to check in to a shelter just two days before Christmas—his first in over twelve years alone. But since that day “it’s been nothing but good,” Courtney says. Courtney worked in the Our House Resale Store for several months before getting connected to his current job at Caterpillar where he earns an excellent wage! Courtney used the Career Center to get connected to welding classes to be more marketable for a higher paying position in the future, and Our House is also able to help with gas cards for traveling to class and Jacksonville to visit his three daughters. Courtney’s successes moved him up to the Family House where he plans to finish a two year stay to save as much money as possible to buy and furnish his future home!
