Summer is in full swing here at Our House, and we are having a great time seeing all of the fun lessons and activities our youth are learning about! Elena is just one student that has excelled this summer—and all year long—in Our Club. Through after-school programming and individualized therapy, Elena has grown in her confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, and leadership! Elena was selected to participate in Our House’s Community Council as a youth representative. Elena will have the opportunity to be the voice for her peers as we seek feedback on our programs and services.
Elena also took initiative this year to become a certified Safe Sitter through Arkansas Children’s Hospital, and she now volunteers 4 days a week in our Infant Room to gain even more skills! Elena encouraged her mother to take the course as well to learn CPR and first aid, and Elena is now making her own promotional materials to advertise her babysitting services!
