Zoie

We see many new faces at Our House each day, but in our Children’s Programs we are lucky to grow up alongside youth that have been with us for years! Zoie, now an 11 year old at eStem, has been with us in Our Club, our out-of-school time program since Kindergarten! Not only has Zoie made lifelong friends over the years, but she’s developed strong, stable bonds with our Youth Program Specialists that help her excel in school (especially math)! While the tutoring and homework support has helped Zoie do well in her classes, she also enjoys the fun activities Our Club provides after school like art lessons and cooking classes. We are very grateful to see our youth that grow up in Our Club mature into capable, compassionate individuals. “You learn to be who you want to be and to be confident in yourself,” Zoie says. “They teach you how to be nice to people and to treat people how you want to be treated.”

Outside of Our Club and school, Zoie devotes her time to cheer and dance. Recently, Zoie joined with local non-profit Real Images as the recipient of this year’s MIRROR Award for young girls who demonstrate passion in the areas of the arts, business, or education. Zoie was able to put the $1,000 reward towards a year of cheer camp!
