Arkansas Ranks 47th in Child Well Being

Arkansas has improved by one spot in the national ranking for child well-being, but that still leaves us at 47th.

According to the 2011 Kids Count Data Book, the state is still struggling improve due to an overall child poverty rate of 27%.

New data shows 2% of all Arkansas kids have been affected by foreclosure since the beginning of the recession and 10% lived with at least one unemployed parent in 2010.

Arkansas has consistently maintained a ranking in the bottom five or six states since 2000.
