New Thrift Store Helps Little Rock Shelter

LITTLE ROCK,AR-Michelle Evans spends almost everyday learning in the kitchen.

Learning the skills that will help get her a job in the future.

“I’m just coming up with so many different ideas so many different recipes but its elevating me preparing me to be out there in the real world” says Michelle Evans.

Michelle is a resident at the Our House shelter in Little Rock. A homeless shelter that provides the tools for people like Michelle to get back out on their own.

“We are working to make our lives better so we are working so we are working our way up the ladder in order to save up money to get our own place and be able to have a stable life again” says Evans.

And starting today proceeds from the My Favorite Thrift store on Markum will help people like Michelle.

“All come back to our house to our shelter and housing programs to provide a safe home to 120 homeless men women and children every night also the clothing and the furniture that’s here all of those items if our clients need them they have access to them” says Executive director of Our House Georgia Mjartan

A small purchase providing a future and a home for people like Michelle.
