When David was searching for transitional housing, he was told to go to Our House. Wanting to ensure that he got a bed, David arrived on campus at 5 o’clock in the morning and by the end of the day he not only had a bed, but he had sat down with an employment coach and finished a resume. “One of the best stress reliefs was going to the Career Center,” David says. “They assured me I could get a resume together even when I thought I couldn’t.”
Through the Career Center, David was able to complete all of his required community service hours and get a stable job at Edwards Cash Saver which he continues to work at today! After a year of living in the Shelter, David is proud to hold the keys to his own place. He plans to continue to utilize the Career Center and to stop by the Shelter where he always enjoyed the Christmas parties and energetic meal servers. David feels confident that he has all of the tools to stay secure with his finances, job, and housing!
