Hanna

Hanna came to Our House in April of last year when she found herself homeless and had nowhere else to go. Since then, Hanna has completely turned her life around! For 8 months, Hanna has felt the security of having a steady job and is  acclimating herself to being in the workforce again as she works in the guard shack on campus. Hanna has moved from our Shelter into our transitional Family House living where she has been able to establish a rental history for the first time in a long time. In her time at Our House Hanna has worked with the Career Center to obtain her birth certificate, get clean, and get connected to occupational training. Hanna was selected for a scholarship to participate in The Innovation Hub’s “Skills to Launch” program and has spent 10 weeks learning carpentry skills until recently graduating! Hanna has a dream of crafting heirlooms that families will want to keep for generations, but she’s starting off by completing a cozy cat house for the neighborhood cats! Hanna’s next goal is to save up for a vehicle, and she is now focusing on finding employment after her job training term ends.
