Working homeless individuals and families in Little Rock will continue to get the helping hand they need from Our House.
The agency located on East Roosevelt Road has been awarded $125,000 from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation (WRF).
The grant supports Our House’s mission to equip homeless men, women, and children with the tools and resources to be successful on their own. The agency provides working homeless individuals and families with housing, education, and job training.
“Support for Our House aligns with WRF’s Moving the Needle goal to increase the capacity of nonprofits who support our mission,” said Dr. Sherece Y. West, president and CEO of the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation. “Our House has been recognized nationally for its comprehensive services to homeless families, and our new partnership will ensure that they are better able to serve our most vulnerable populations,”
Our House will use the grant to implement a strategic plan to expand its current programs for homeless families and improve its ability to measure the impact of its programs. In addition, Our House will create an advisory board of clients, residents, and community members to inform the development of education programs.
“WRF’s support to develop a strategic plan is critical to our efforts to strengthen our programs and our outcomes for families,” said Georgia Mjartan, Our House Executive Director. “We want to ensure that every struggling family has a place to regroup and the support to move forward and break the cycle of poverty and homelessness.”
