Monday Update
Working homeless people living at Our House took to the stage over the weekend, performing Shakespeare.
Theatergoers packed the house as the actors performed scenes from plays like Othello and shared their own personal stories.
The event raised over $4,000; which is enough to buy new beds for the men’s shelter.
Original Story
Actors at Our House were on stage Thursday for their dress rehearsal of Shakespeare’s “To Sleep, Perchance to Dream.”
The cast is made up of working homeless people who receive services at Our House.
They’re performing this weekend in hopes of buying new beds for the shelter.
“It is really cool to be able to give something back because so often we really are asking people ‘Can you help us, can you give us a hand up?'” says Development Coordinator Ganelle Grimm.
