LITTLE ROCK, Ark.– Our House kicked off their summer program for homeless and community children Saturday.

Roughly 126 children are enrolled in the 10-week summer program. Directors of the program say it’s one of the few in the state that hosts a summer-long 10-hour day program.

Most of the kids are currently homeless or live in the community, helping parents with summer alternatives while they work.

Terry Brown, who was formerly homeless says, “And that was really the main help that I needed, somewhere for my children to be while I actually had time to search for a job and someone to support me as I searched for my job.”

The summer program started 11 years ago.

This years kick-off event was hosted by Morgan Stanley.
