Our House Prepares For Shakespeare At The Shelter

LITTLE ROCK, AR- The last 8 weeks have proven to be busy for these residents at Our House shelter in Little Rock. They’re rehearsing for the second annual Shakespeare at the Shelter, which is a series of plays keeping kids busy during the summer months. Staff designed this Shakespeare production after residents expressed how much they wanted to establish a sense of community within their shelter.”The residents have decided to raise money to buy some new furniture for the common area here at the shelter,” said Whitney Wellborn, Our House Development Coordinator.

The common area is one of the most popular places at Our House. It’s where residents eat, spend leisure time and see visitors. Residents and staff said it’s in dire need of some new furniture and sprucing up.

Performances will be held on August 9th and 10th at 7:30 p.m. in the Our House shelter. Tickets cost $20 dollars.
