Have five minutes? Check out an episode of “Project Voice,” a documentary project created by Our House, the shelter for working homeless families in Little Rock on Roosevelt Road.

Each of the brief shorts in the 12-part series tells the story of an individual client at the shelter, narrated in his or her own words. The videos are directed by filmmaker Zachary Crow, an AmeriCorps VISTA at Our House, and are being released on a weekly basis with the goal of creating a second round of shorts next year.

The videos serve as a promotional tool for the shelter, of course, but they also serve to humanize the people it serves and show the reach of homelessness in the city and the state. The lives of the folks profiled here are recognizable to an average American audience: young and old, male and female, black and white. Take a look. Ten of the twelve episodes are currently online.
